Contents page mock up

The mock up of my contents page was based on a Rolling Stones magazine (shown below). The magazine is split into 2 sections, pictures and text. The whole left side of the page is text about the pages and what articles are where etc, whereas the right hand side of the page is pictures that attract the readers to those particular articles. These articles with the big pictures are normally main articles that feature on the front of the magazine.
The use of white space around the page was done due to magazine convention. With each magazine i looked at everyone had white space borders around it. This not only made it look more professional but also less daunting. With my audience always being on the move have less daunting pages is better because it would attract more readers to not only the magazine but also individual articles within the magazine. With the design of the left hand side also being split into two it means that its more divided and makes it look a lot more attractive compared to one massive column of text, its two small pieces that are much easier to read. The banner on the top of the page gives a feel of consistency and fluidity from the front cover. With the colour schemes to be the banner would make it seem a fluid change of page.
The font used is following the same as the front cover. With the article names being in the exact same font type as the front cover. However with the small descriptions about the articles they are going to be in a much simpler font which makes it a lot easier to read and more attractive for the reader to actually go to the page to find out more.
